Why are we afraid?

I still remember the first time on the dancefloor and it wasn’t a good feeling at all. Nervous, scared… And to add, there were an audience, judges, better dancer, coaches… Of course, my mind started to think: they will look at, they will see my mistakes or even worse, they will see that I am not dancing well. How did it go? Not so well.

But then I was thinking, why did I allow my mind to control me and my emotions? Why wasn’t I able to entirely enjoy the dancing and why are the other people’s opinions so important? And I said no, no to being scared of other people’s opinions, of mistake, of everything. And exactly this we do in Kundalini yoga, we are standing for ourselves. We are saying no to the control of the others, no to the fear and we start to listen ourselves more. And why shouldn’t we do that, only we know what is best for us.
